Vtne test dates 20151/10/2024 Our program is distinct as students complete their final semesters at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) located at the University of Saskatchewan. From the time students enter the program, they are introduced to veterinary practices through clinical rotations – the majority of our graduates are hired by one of the practices they were introduced to through work placements. Our program emphasizes training in small animal medicine and provides an introduction to working with animals in research. (Note: Vet Tech is also known as “Animal Health Technology”.) Every accredited program in Canada ensures training in the required essential skills and subjects but accomplishes this through very different curriculums. Sask Polytech offers the only Vet Tech training program in Saskatchewan. What sets this program apart from other programs?.The program is built on a math and health sciences background and you will also learn basic anatomy and physiology, medical math, microbiology and pharmacology. You will also learn about animal biology, behavior and husbandry. As a student in the program, you will learn how to perform all aspects of veterinary nursing care, including: client communication, how to how to collect and run laboratory samples, take radiographs, perform anesthetic nursing, prepare for surgery, assist in veterinary dentistry, provide nursing care. Sask Polytech’s Vet Tech program is a two-year diploma program. They have a strong interest in health sciences and animal sciences. They are interested in working within a team-work environment. Keep in mind that it may be best to make comments at the end and not use your valuable test time. These comments are later reviewed by ProExam and AAVSB. There is a comment section for each question where you may make a suggestion or comment. You will be provided with an erasable board so that you can make notes as needed (no scratch paper is allowed). It will be similar to the MS Windows calculator, so it may be helpful to practice prior to the exam. There will be an online calculator which you may use for the math and calculations on the exam. You may take breaks during the exam, but the time clock will continue to run. Make sure to arrive 30 minutes early for your test and bring a valid form of identification! Test takers who are late to the testing center or have ID problems and are denied entry are considered unexcused. Those additional pilot questions are used to help construct future exams by the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) who owns the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE). There are 150 operational questions that will count towards your score, and 20 pilot questions on the test that will not be counted toward your score, but you will not know which those are.
